Gamebryo 2.3 Serves Up Cinematic Quality Production on Next-Generation Gaming Platforms -- With Fewer Development Resources

CALABASAS, CA--(Marketwire - June 18, 2007) - With more than 200 video game titles already powered by Gamebryo, Emergent Game Technologies today unveiled a stunning upgrade to its leading game engine focused on performance and feature enhancements for next-generation platforms. With the release of Gamebryo 2.3, dramatic cinematic action and rendering results are now possible with significantly fewer development resources required for production.

According to Geoffrey Selzer, CEO of Emergent, Gamebryo 2.3 will dramatically decrease the time and cost required to build stellar cross-platform games.

"Whether you have a three person or three hundred person development house, one of your biggest ongoing concerns is managing exploding development budgets for next-generation platforms," explained Selzer. "While decreasing the cost of production and time to market, Gamebryo 2.3's tool set delivers a significant technological leap forward, which will aid developers in an environment where multi-threaded development means vastly different things on different platforms."

With over a decade of enhancements programmed in by Emergent's 80 plus developers, Gamebryo 2.3 improves upon the comprehensive tool set that was used to create so many of the industry's leading titles, including Bethesda Softworks' Oblivion, the stunning RPG heralded as "the best-looking game I have ever seen in my life," by Xbox.com.

Gamebryo 2.3's powerful new features and capabilities include:

-- Rendering Framework. An object-based rendering framework that allows
for easy programmatic construction of complex rendering effects.
-- Multi-Core Processing. Floodgate™ optimized task scheduling and
execution, enabling a richer experience on today's next generation multi-
    core processor game platforms.
-- DX10 Support. Pre-release of the new DX10 renderer. Supports most DX9
features, but includes a significantly re-architected and improved API.
-- Shadow System. A system which includes automatic tool chain support
for variance shadow mapping, edge tap smoothed PCF shadow mapping, and
    general shadow mapping.
-- PhysX Integration. Integration of AGEIA PhysX™ with Animation Tool
to support setting up blending for advanced ragdoll and keyframe
    animations.

Gamebryo is a powerful component of Emergent Elements, a family of modular tools designed to give developers the flexibility and control they need to create breakthrough gaming experiences.

"What we are demonstrating in the release of 2.3 is just the beginning of an ambitious roadmap that will keep developers ahead of the trends and always at the forefront of progressive game development," added Selzer.
