Cybersecurity is one of the greatest security challenges the United States faces in a new and more competitive international environment. The damage from cyber attack is real. Last year, the Departments of Defense, State, Homeland Security, and Commerce, NASA, and the National Defense University all suffered major intrusions by unknown foreign entities. America's failure to protect cyberspace is one of the most urgent national security problems facing the new administration that will take office in January 2009. Encouraged to think strategically and to be innovative in proposing how the U.S. organizes itself, the Commission on Cybersecurity for the 44th Presidency has released its recommendations for President-elect Barack Obama.

SC World Congress will be the first opportunity members of the Commission on Cybersecurity for the 44th Presidency will have to talk about their recommendations for the new administration. Members of The Commission on Cybersecurity for the 44th Presidency in attendance include:

-- Rep. Jim Langevin (D-R.I.)
-- Rep. Michael McCaul (Rep.-TX)
-- Lieutenant General Harry D. Raduege Jr. (USAF, Ret), chairman of the
Center for Network Innovation at Deloitte & Touche LLP
-- Marcus Sachs, executive director for government affairs, national
    security policy, Verizon Communications

Key findings from the report that will be presented include:

-- Create a Comprehensive National Security Strategy for Cyberspace

-- Rebuild Partnerships with the Private Sector
-- Regulate for Cybersecurity
-- Identity Management for Cybersecurity
-- Modernize Authorities
