MEDIA ADVISORY: Angeles Chorale Presents "America -- Our Music, Our Heritage"

A Celebration of American Music and American Choral Composers

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - March 9, 2010) - Los Angeles's own Angeles Chorale, the Passionate Voice of Los Angeles, will hold its annual spring concert at the First United Methodist Church in Pasadena, CA on March 20th, 2010. The Chorale celebrates the American musical experience through the finest choral music in America, exclusively featuring American composers and poets.

Widely recognized as the region's finest chorale groups, the Angeles Chorale will be featuring the west coast premiere of a new original work by composer and conductor Anthony Maglione entitled "Out of the Depths."

"The United States of America is a land rich in musical heritage. From the simple folk tune, to the spiritual, to the contemporary works of modern composers, American music depicts the character of a nation built on diversity, constantly striving to greet the future with hope and optimism," Maglione said.

Works to be featured include pieces by composers Aaron Copeland, Leonard Bernstein, Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, Stephen Foster, William Dawson, Moses Hogan, Charles Ives, and Morton Lauridsen.
