"Yes We Can" Director Jesse Dylan Joins "America's Got Net" Judges Panel

Renowned Film Director Joins Growing List of Internet Celebrity Judges Including Founders of Craigslist and Personal Democracy Forum for the Open Internet Coalition's America's Got Net Contest

WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwire - August 2, 2010) -

News Highlights:

American film director and FreeForm founder, Jesse Dylan, has joined the panel of celebrity judges for America's Got Net, the Open Internet Coalition's nationwide YouTube video contest highlighting the importance of the open Internet.

Dylan is an active supporter of the open Internet, tackling the issue head-on in a 2009 video on the fundamental importance of Net Neutrality.

Throughout his career, Dylan has worked with organizations such as RED, the ONE Campaign, and the Clinton Global Initiative and is the founder of Lybba, a medical non-profit working to provide medical information openly over the Internet. He is also well known for his work on the Emmy Award-winning "Yes We Can" music video inspired by President Barack Obama's presidential campaign. His impressive resume has led to directorial success in feature films as well, including comedies such as Kicking and Screaming with Will Ferrell and Robert Duvall and American Wedding.

Dylan joins a judges panel of fellow Internet celebrities including Craig Newmark, founder of Craigslist; Susan Crawford, former Special Assistant for Science, Technology, and Innovation Policy for the Obama Administration; Jolie O'Dell of Mashable; and Personal Democracy Forum founders Andrew Rasiej and Micah Sifry.

Applications for the contest, which runs through midnight PDT on August 15, 2010, are available online.

Quotes:

Jesse Dylan, founder of FreeForm
"Back in 2009, I wanted to make a video that reminded us all what we, as a people, owe to the principle of Net Neutrality. Now I'm asking every American to do the same. The open Internet has shaped our businesses, empowered our communities, and fundamentally changed the way we communicate with one another -- and all of that is at risk. As this fight rages on in Washington, I encourage all Americans to take this opportunity to speak up and protect your rights as an Internet user."
