Mark G. Anderson Consultants Leads Eaton Corporation's Enterprise Data Center to LEED Gold Certification

Washington, DC, Sept. 9, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Program Management firm Mark G. Anderson Consultants ("MGAC") is proud to announce the award of LEED Gold Certification by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) to the first of two completed, synchronized enterprise data centers for the Eaton Corporation in Kentucky. The second and twin facility, also located in Kentucky, is expected to attain LEED Gold.

This $15 billion power management corporation estimates that the identical data centers will result in an energy savings of $23 million - an efficiency that perfectly illustrates Eaton’s dedication to energy conservation and leading-edge technology. These state-of-the-art data centers will replace Eaton’s aging facilities located near Cleveland, Ohio.

MGAC acted as the Owner’s Representative and Program Manager responsible for the development and execution of the data center strategy, providing comprehensive management of all budget, schedule and scope related to the site selection, procurement, design, development, construction and commissioning of these dual, synchronized facilities. With 20,000 SF of raised floor per site, the modular and scalable design allows for expansion of each 102,000 SF data center to approximately 200,000 SF at ultimate build. These projects were developed using a "design once, build twice" approach that minimized design costs, maximized construction purchasing power and allowed the incorporation of design efficiencies including a targeted annualized PUE of 1.5. These facilities are also among the first 400V power distribution facilities to the rack level within the U.S., eliminating the need for PDUs and resultant power losses.

About MGAC:  MGAC has established themselves as the premier independent Owner’s Representative and thought leader in mission critical program management, having previously managed the first ever LEED certified data center, and the world’s first LEED Silver certified (also an Uptime Tier III certified) data center. They are currently managing over $400 million worth of ground-up data center projects. MGAC has collectively managed over $1.2 billion of corporate, historic, cultural, and government building projects over the last five years. Headquartered in Washington, DC, MGAC has an additional office in Seattle, Washington. For more information, please visit the company’s website at www.mgac.com.
