Association for Corporate Growth Orange County to Host First Annual SoCal Capital Expo Featuring National Release of Pepperdine Private Capital Markets Survey Results

TUSTIN, CA--(Marketwire - Oct 18, 2011) - The Association for Corporate Growth Orange County Chapter (ACG OC) today announced the First Annual Southern California Capital Expo, highlighted by the first public release of results from Pepperdine University's national Private Capital Markets Survey Project, at a special monthly networking event to be held on Thursday, November 10, 2011 at 5:30 PM at the Westin Hotel in Costa Mesa. A panel of capital market experts will be on hand to comment on the survey findings, presented by Pepperdine University professor Dr. John Paglia.

The Pepperdine Private Capital Market Project surveys 12 capital market segments to understand the latest trends, best practices and changing behaviors of capital providers including asset based lenders, senior lenders, mezzanine funds, angel funds, venture capital funds, private equity groups, factoring company principals, investment bankers as well as business appraisers and business owners.

ACG OC Board member Thomas Hopper, Advisor with the Nassau Group at Morgan Stanley, organized the event and commented, "The Southern California Capital Expo is an excellent opportunity for ACG members and guests to learn where professional investors are allocating their capital as well as receive the most comprehensive empirical data on the private capital markets. This insightful and compelling event is essential for financial professionals seeking a deeper understanding of how the capital markets function and where future opportunities exist."

The ACG monthly evening event also will feature open networking with Orange County's leading deal makers and service providers, as well as cocktails and appetizers followed by Dr. Paglia's presentation. Mike Hedge, partner with Expo co-sponsor K&L Gates LLP, will introduce the respected Pepperdine University professor.

"John Paglia has taken his passion for research and the capital markets and developed a study that has come to represent the gold standard for the business community," said Hedge. Lloyd Miller, Regional Private Equity Practice Leader with McGladrey, event co-sponsor, echoed those comments.

"The fact that Dr. Paglia has chosen to present national data and trends here in Orange County speaks volumes about the region's growth and relevance in the finance/M&A field," said Miller, past ACG OC President. He will lead the follow-up panel discussion that features Fred Helms, Regional MD Commercial Banking at US Bank; Bob Poletti, Principal of Levine Leichtman; Mike Kane with Caltius Capital Management; and Bob Holmen, Miramar Venture Partners.

The ACG OC Southern California Expo costs $50 to pre-registered members as well as Pepperdine Private Capital Markets Project survey participants, and $95 for non-members. For registration information, please register on-line at www.acgoc.org (credit card required).
