Retriever Communications Expands Global Presence, Appoints New Business Development Director for North America

Enterprise Mobility Specialist to Lead Business Development Efforts and Fuel Corporate Expansion Into US Market

HOUSTON, TX--(Marketwire - May 29, 2012) - Retriever Communications, a global provider of mobile field force automation, today announced the appointment of Robert Gunn as business development director to lead efforts in customer expansion into the US corporate market. Retriever is the largest field force technology provider in the APAC region. The company's high-tech solutions help a variety of industries drastically improve productivity by leveraging mobile devices in the field.

Gunn joins Retriever's new US headquarters in the growing technology market of Houston, TX. The company's focus in the region is on customers in industries such as oil and gas, utilities, manufacturing and government. Retriever announced its support center in Texas last September and announced its first American channel partners to the mid-corporate market in March of this year.

Prior to Retriever, Gunn spent seven years at Blackbay, a leading computer software company in the transport and logistics market. He has also worked at Sybase, Hitachi Data Systems and Dell and has several years' experience in hardware, software, storage and logistics. In his prior roles, he supported company growth through creating business opportunities and establishing long-lasting partnerships.

"To sustain corporate growth, we began an aggressive expansion into other global regions, and Robert is key to our continued success," said Mary Brittain-White, CEO of Retriever Communications. "I've witnessed first hand the impact he has on our business by developing solid connections with customers, and we're very excited to have him leading Retriever's advancement into the US corporate marketplace."

"Retriever is the only solution in its market to have write-once, deploy-on-any-platform capability," said Robert Gunn. "It's the only solution that provides field workers with a robust enough platform to accomplish real work and a dedication and commitment to first-rate customer support. I'm excited to be the driving force behind our US expansion to corporate accounts and believe that our solution set is the answer to challenges and inefficiencies the field service market has struggled with for decades."

Along with the recent expansion into the US, Retriever also announced the launch of RADE3, an update to its Retriever Application Development Environment (RADE). The mobile app development platform allows businesses to create and deploy device-agnostic native apps to iOS, Android and Windows Mobile directly from the development platform, without having to adjust or write code outside the app.
