iPad App Streamlines Jury Selection

JuryPad(R) Helps Trial Attorneys Make Their Case

CHARLESTON, SC--(Marketwire - Dec 13, 2012) - Bench & Bar, LLC, a Charleston-based law technology company, has released JuryPad®, an iPad® app to help trial attorneys with jury selection. Designed by a lawyer with 20 years of trial experience and tested by other lawyers, JuryPad offers advanced application tools to make the complex voir dire process more efficient and effective.

Voir dire is one of the most critical stages of a trial, as it can make or break a case. Although attorneys are adapting to the use of technology in the courtroom, many still rely on paper notes for jury selection because they find high tech apps lacking important functionality or difficult to use.

"As a trial attorney, I have used other jury selection applications with limitations. The thought behind JuryPad was to develop an app that would deliver superior tools along with an intuitive interface and streamlined processes," says Stephan Futeral, a South Carolina trial attorney and one of the architects of JuryPad. "The app was designed to ease the jury selection process by speeding up data entry, making juror evaluation more insightful, and to simulate the work of an actual attorney in the courtroom."

JuryPad features jury selection tools for lawyers and their consultants to create a searchable database of information about prospective jurors. Users can track peremptory challenges, take notes on jurors, view jury pool demographics, map jurors' addresses, and evaluate, rate, and select primary and alternate jurors from a jury list. JuryPad offers a custom seating chart and the ability to share jury information with others, including sharing the app's database with other users of JuryPad.

Additionally, JuryPad works with a Bluetooth keyboard to make entries of new juror data easier. For more information, visit www.benchandbarllc.com. The application is available for download on iTunes App Store.
