Heathrow Hotel Debuts Trendy New Sports Bar, THE SEVENS

London Heathrow Marriott Joins Forces With London Sevens Rugby

HAYES, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwired - Apr 4, 2013) - A trendy new sports bar debuted March 7 in Heathrow London with the help of players and officials representing the Rugby Football Union (RFU) at a lavish launch party inside the distinctive London Heathrow Marriott.

With opening comments by Ron Vos, general manager of the hotel and Wendy Tring, senior commercial partnership manager for the RFU, the two entities further cemented the partnership between Marriott and the sports league and its sponsorship of the London Rugby SEVENS by Marriott.

Rugby players representing the men and women's squads of the England Sevens were among some of those attending the opening affair and all were eager to participate in the activities of the evening. Sevens players spent time mingling with specially invited guests in a jungle-like atmosphere reflective of this year's RFU London Sevens Safari theme and participated in entertainment that included a fun-filled "Pub Quiz" netting prizes for many of those attending. Filled to capacity with cheerful party-goers and brightly dressed tiger and lion mascots, the dynamic new bar, THE SEVENS, took advantage of the opportunity to show off their upscale facilities and unsurpassed service inside what has come to be recognized as one of the premier hotels near London.

"This event in our new sports bar was the perfect way to showcase Marriott's partnership with the RFU and reinforce the alliance with the Marriott London Sevens," said Vos. "It was great to see everyone having so much fun tonight. We are proud of our new bar THE SEVENS and the hospitality it offers, and look forward to welcoming many more people to it."

Tantalizing food and drink, including delightful canapés and the bar's new signature cocktail, the "7EVEN Sins", unveiled for the first time during the opening event, were served throughout the evening, all prepared by the hotel's skilled bartenders and culinary staff and served in the true spirit of Marriott hospitality.

Prizes were awarded throughout the night with winners of the popular cocktail naming competition receiving a bottle of champagne and a bottle Galliano (the main ingredient in "7EVEN Sins) while "Pub Quiz" winners received tickets for the Marriott London Rugby Sevens at Twickenham Stadium in May.
