Hawaii Hotel Named Hotel of the Year by Hawaiian Airlines

Renovations Add to Appeal at the Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa

WAIKOLOA BEACH, HI--(Marketwired - Dec 16, 2013) - If anyone knows hotels, it's airline crews. For most of their lives, pilots, stewards and stewardesses live out of a suitcase, the envy of the rest of the world as they hop from one city to the next. What airline crews will tell you, however, is that getting a good night's rest isn't that easy when a bed is not one's own. This year, Hawaiian Airlines chose the Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa as its 2013 Hotel of the Year, honoring the Waikoloa hotel as the top property for hosting its crews and passengers.

The annual award was given to this resort on the Big Island of Hawaii and accepted by the general manager, John Tolbert. "It is a pleasure to host the crews and passengers of Hawaiian Airlines," he says, "and we are honored to be recognized by a company who holds service and comfort at the top of its guest priorities as much as we do."

While the resort is an award-winner and top destination for vacationers, honeymooners and Hawaii island weddings, it has continued to work on improving its offerings to create the best experience for guests.

This past fall, the resort made major improvements to guest rooms that included the addition of a 42-inch flat-screen TV and Wi-Fi to all rooms, and new beds should be in place by early 2014. Accommodations continue to offer a special fusion of authentic Polynesian and Asian decor, a private lanai, Kona coffee and tea service, a refrigerator and garden, mountain, pool or ocean views.
