TSO Logic, Ruckus Wireless and Other InteropNet Providers to Showcase Seamless Power Control of Wireless Network Devices at Interop Las Vegas

Monitoring and control of conference network to save energy and provide real-time insights into user workload and device performance

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - March 25, 2014) - TSO Logic, developers of energy efficiency software for data centers, has announced a live demonstration of their award-winning power monitoring and energy efficiency software on Ruckus Wireless access points and other network devices at the upcoming Interop Las Vegas.

From April 1-3, 2014 TSO Logic will be demonstrating their technology on the conference's "best practices" network-InteropNet-with live results displayed at the InteropNet Network Operations Center and at their booth in the New Innovators Pavilion. Results will also be posted live on their website (www.tsologic.com/interop).

The company's Application-Aware Power Management software will be monitoring and intelligently controlling Ruckus Wireless access points, servers, and other networking equipment throughout the tradeshow floor and conference rooms that supports the shows over 12,000 attendees.

The demonstration will showcase TSO Logic's ability to seamlessly adjust the power state of network devices based on real-time fluctuations in user demand, improving energy efficiency and providing detailed performance metrics at the same time. TSO Logic will be sharing live results such as user workload per wireless access point, number of transactions processed per kWh, and energy costs per transaction, individual device, and application.

"Interop is the perfect opportunity for us to demonstrate the flexibility of our solution to power control devices without impacting end user performance," says Aaron Rallo, founder and CEO of TSO Logic. "It's one thing to be able to reduce power based on a schedule, but using rule-based algorithms allows us to maximize the savings and ensure availability when needed."

"The integration between TSO Logic and Ruckus serves as a powerful illustration of how wireless access points can be measured and controlled to improve their power utilization and cost-effectiveness," said David Callisch, VP of Corporate Marketing for Ruckus Wireless. "When wireless access points are deployed in mass quantities in the tens, hundreds or even thousands, the power consumption can really add up. Optimizing this consumption can save significant operating expense with little to no effort using TSO Logic's solutions."

"TSO Logic brings a unique level of user-activity awareness to power management," says Steve Emert, an Avaya network engineer supporting InteropNet. "Our own Avaya Energy Saver feature is enhanced by TSO Logic's ability to sense actual usage and signal the switch to decrease power consumption dynamically. Together, TSO Logic's intelligence and Avaya Energy Saver can significantly reduce energy costs without impacting network performance."
