Naxos Distributed Labels Win Two Junos

TORONTO, ON--(Marketwired - Mar 31, 2014) - Canadian violinist James Ehnes was a double winner at the 2014 Juno awards including Classical Album of the Year: Solo or Classical for his recording Prokofiev: Complete Works for Violin (Chandos CHAN 10787). With this award, Ehnes has now won nine Juno awards.

Writing about this release in Fanfare Magazine, Jerry Dubins wrote: "If you're a Prokofiev enthusiast, especially of his works for violin, this new two-disc set is essential. If you're an Ehnes fan, it's indispensable. If you're both, acquisition of this release is obligatory."

In the Classical Composition of the Year Calgary-based composer Alan Gordon Bell won for his work Fieldnotes. This piece is featured on Gravity and Grace, a new Centredisc CD dedicated to his music (CMCD19013).

Bell's music has been performed by major ensembles across North America and Europe as well as in Israel and Japan. This Juno winning recording features The Land's End Chamber Ensemble and clarinetist James Campbell.
