Three Labels Join the Naxos of America Distribution Network

FRANKLIN, TN--(Marketwired - Nov 13, 2014) - Naxos of America welcomes three new label partners in November 2014; Broken Hip Records, Obsculta Music and Riverside Symphony Records.

Founded in 1981 by Conductor and Music Director George Rothman and Artistic Director and Composer-in-Residence Anthony Korf, Riverside Symphony has introduced New York audiences to important works by an array of contemporary composers from around the world, unfamiliar works by great masters and extraordinary young soloists. The ensemble launched Riverside Symphony Records this year with a collection of three major orchestral works by the late Romanian-French composer Marius Constant. From The New York Times to Gramophone magazine to Fanfare, Riverside Symphony's past releases have been recognized by the international press with "Critic's Choices" and numerous accolades.

Obsculta Music is an independent record label that was founded by the Cistercian Monks of Stift Heiligenkreuz in 2011. The label, which originally focused on recordings of Gregorian Chant, is based in their monastery in the Viennese Forest in Austria. The monks themselves became world-renowned with the album "Chant -- Music for Paradise," which has sold more than a million copies throughout Europe. The label's name comes from the first words of the Cistercian Monks' rule: "Obsculta, o fili!" or "Listen, my son!"

Broken Hip Records was founded in 2014 as a vessel to bring the finest psych and indie rock straight from the label-founders' basements to... probably someone else's basement. The Nashville, TN based label plans to release recordings across many mediums including CDs, tapes, and vinyl.

In addition to being an award-winning classical label, Naxos of America is the #1 independent classical music distributor in the U.S. and Canada.
