Forbes 50 Enterprise Chooses ByteGrid for Innovative Disaster Recovery Solution

Maryland Data Center Provides "Active-Active" Back Up Solution on Power and Network Grids Separate From Northern Virginia

SILVER SPRING, MD--(Marketwired - May 7, 2015) - ByteGrid Holdings LLC, a provider of multi-tenant data centers, today announced an agreement to provide a disaster recovery solution for one the nation's largest providers of financial and business information products and services.

Under terms of the agreement, ByteGrid is providing the Forbes 50 company with a secondary data center for an active-active disaster recovery (DR) solution from its ultra-secure, flagship facility in Silver Spring, Md.

The large enterprise chose ByteGrid's compliant-grade IT infrastructure and colocation hosting services over five other data center providers as well as an internal proposal to build it themselves. Key to the selection was ByteGrid's ability to offer power and network resources separate from the company's production environment located in a Northern Virginia data center. Leveraging ByteGrid's Maryland data center as a second site sets it apart from alternatives limited to the same power utility provider within Northern Virginia for a similar two site solution.

"ByteGrid's Silver Spring data center was originally built to meet the stringent security and performance demands of one of the worlds' 5 largest banks," said Drew Fassett, ByteGrid's Chief Revenue Officer. "It is now available to large enterprise and Government organizations as an ideal alternative, particularly as a convenient DR solution for Northern Virginia, as it ensures resiliency and further reduces business risk associated with downtime."

Strategically located within the metro Washington, D.C. data center market, ByteGrid's flagship Silver Spring data center is the largest multi-tenant data center in Maryland featuring 214,000 sq. ft. of data center space and over 90,000 sq. ft. of raised floor. It features redundant power supply systems, providing a total of nine (9) megawatts of critical load power, twenty-two (22) megawatts of on-site power generation and cooling in a concurrent maintainability and fault tolerance design, with future planned expansions to double critical load power capacity.

To protect its customers' mission-critical applications and data, ByteGrid's Tier 4 data center infrastructure and ultra-high security meets NIST FISMA, and GSA Interagency Security Committee standards and network grid connectivity criteria.

In less than three years, ByteGrid has become the largest data center Internet exchange in Maryland with over ten connectivity partners with many others seeking a network point of presence (PoP) available to enterprise and government customers.
