O'Reilly Media Launches New Design Conference

Design the Future

SEBASTOPOL, CA--(Marketwired - Jun 4, 2015) - Design drives the future, and designers' jobs grow more complex by the day. The inaugural O'Reilly Media Design Conference explores the evolving role of design in both business and society January 20-22, 2016, at Fort Mason in San Francisco. The call for speakers has opened for a program that invites leading design innovators to share their knowledge, tips, and techniques and to learn more about the tools and concepts shaping the next generation of user experience.

"Five years ago the heroes were technologists. Today, the heroes are designers building out a user experience. You can have the most amazing technology in the world, but if it's not put in a form that's useful and desirable, you won't be successful," says Ammunition's Robert Brunner, founder and partner at Ammunition.

Never before has design had such a significant impact on products, services, businesses, and society. The O'Reilly Design Conference creates the definitive gathering for those interested in the force design exerts in shaping a better world.

Chairs Rochelle King (Spotify's Global VP of Design and UX) and Mary Treseler (O'Reilly's Director of Strategic Content, Design) invite proposals for talks, workshops, and demonstrations that span business, design, and technical topics of critical relevance. Designers, innovators, leaders, and practitioners will come together at the O'Reilly Design Conference to explore the future of their field, their role in the world of business, the impact of technology, and their potential to influence society. The great designers of the future will be full-stack multitaskers with not only sharp design skills but also programming literacy and keen business sense. The O'Reilly Design Conference provides the skills and knowledge designers' expanding roles require.

For more information about the interesting ideas inspiring the conference program, O'Reilly Radar covers emerging ideas around design and the people propelling it into the future.

The call for speakers closes July 20, 2015.
