Memorial Day Gift of $10,000 Supports Military

BUENA PARK, CA--(Marketwired - May 28, 2016) -  Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament celebrated Memorial Day weekend this year by donating $10,000 to Operation Gratitude. The gift will help buy more than 660 care packages.

Operation Gratitude sends these care packages filled with snacks, entertainment, hygiene products, handmade items, plus personal letters of appreciation to New Recruits, Veterans, U.S. Service Members deployed overseas, Wounded Heroes and their caregivers. The nonprofit's mission is to lift the spirits of those who serve (or have served) the country. Since its inception in 2003, Operation Gratitude volunteers have shipped more than 1,500,000 care packages.

"Traditionally, Memorial Day honors those who died in active military service," said Medieval Times General Manager Pedro Goite. "We wanted to do something to honor those who continue to put themselves in harm's way to protect our way of life."

Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament launched in Majorca, Spain, in 1973, and opened its first North American Castle in Kissimmee, Fla., in 1983. Now regarded as North America's longest running and most popular dinner attraction, more than 59 million guests have experienced Medieval Times at Castles in Kissimmee, FL; Buena Park, CA; Lyndhurst, N.J.; Schaumburg, IL; Dallas, TX; Toronto, Ontario Canada; Myrtle Beach, SC; Hanover, MD; and Atlanta, GA. The company's North American headquarters are located in Irving, TX, close to the Medieval Times Chapel Creek Ranch in Sanger, TX.
