Aurionpro Solutions Enables the UK Cabinet Office to Deliver Pan Government PSN Identity Federation Service

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwired - Feb 5, 2014) - Aurionpro Solutions plc, a global leader in identity and access management, is proud to announce that after a competition run by the UK Cabinet Office it has been selected as one of the suppliers to provide public sector organisations with an internal federated identity service.

In 2013 Aurionpro Solutions made a commitment to work with a number of government departments to design, build, implement and support a federated identity shared service that could be securely hosted within a PSN accredited data centre. Over the coming months the early adopters will be able to use the functionality of the PSIIF service in live environments.

Aurionpro's Public Sector Internal Identity Federation (PSIIF) Hub Federation Hub for PSN use is compliant with the functional security requirements detailed in the Public Sector Internal Identity Federation requirements document and Cabinet Office's Identity Assurance Hub Service Specification. Aurionpro Solutions is enabling the Government to fulfill its strategic objective of enabling public service providers to establish and verify the identity of users once per session, thereby facilitating single sign-on (SSO) across all services with the same mutual trust relationships.

The new service, which is being set up for the Public Service Network (PSN) Programme, will enable PSN users in public sector organisations to be identified to both PSN and non-PSN service providers in a highly-secure way. This service is known as the Public Sector Internal Identity Federation (PSIIF). Through the provision of the SSO capability using a portable trusted identity, PSIIF will enable easier sharing of information across the public sector, increase the security of access to this data and enable organisations to realise savings on ICT deployments.

The service is a highly resilient, highly scalable, open standards based messaging platform that can connect unlimited users to unlimited services. The PSIIF hub is available to procure through the Government Procurement Service's Cloudstore (see GCloud 4 Aurionpro PSIIF).
