Daniel Carroll of Litmus Capital Management Wins InvestPitch, a Stock-Pitch Competition for Emerging Managers

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Feb 5, 2014) - Institutional Investor, one of the world's foremost media brands, and SumZero, the world's largest community of buy-side investment professionals, announce that Daniel Carroll, founder of New York-based Litmus Capital Management, has won the InvestPitch competition. InvestPitch is a 'TED-style' stock-pitch competition and multi-media idea platform that brings actionable ideas from top emerging managers within the SumZero community to investors.

At the competition, which was held at Columbia University School of Business's Uris Hall on November 12, 2013, 19 managers, including Carroll, gave a three-minute pitch on one of his or her best investment ideas. Carroll made his case for a long position at IDT Corp., a Newark, New Jersey-based telecommunication company founded by Howard Jonas in 1990. IDT offers calling cards, long distance plans, conferencing plans and prepaid card services. The audience chose the top three managers by ranking them on several criteria, and visitors to institutionalinvestor.com voted for the overall winner online after watching videos of the three finalists' pitches.
