ARRIS, AT&T U-Verse, Lowe's, iControl Networks, and Cisco to Keynote CONNECTIONS(TM): The Premier Connected Home Conference

Parks Associates and Industry Leaders Address New Opportunities in the Connected Home and Internet of Things

DALLAS, TX--(Marketwired - Apr 10, 2014) - Parks Associates today announced that ARRIS, AT&T U-Verse, Lowe's, iControl Networks, and Cisco will present keynotes at the 18th-annual CONNECTIONS™: The Premier Connected Home Conference, May 13-15 in San Francisco. The three-day executive conference is focused on critical business issues pertaining to the converging entertainment, media, and service markets for consumers.

Parks Associates research finds widespread adoption of broadband and smartphones has fundamentally changed both entertainment and home controls in the connected home and created new and lucrative consumer segments. TV Everywhere users have 2.7 more Internet-connectable CE devices than the average pay-TV subscriber and are likely to have more screens in their homes, more devices connected to the television, and more mobile devices than average subscribers.

"Connectivity is creating new consumer expectations and opening new possibilities in monetizing connected CE and smart home services," said Stuart Sikes, President, Parks Associates. "For example, only 4% of homes have home monitoring and control systems installed, but 43% of U.S. broadband households are likely to purchase a smart home package. CONNECTIONS™ features leaders touching every square foot of the connected home to discuss the new revenue and partnership opportunities emerging from the convergence of the smart home, mobile and video services, apps, and the Internet of Things."
