AUSTIN, TX--(Marketwired - Apr 22, 2014) - Texans for Economic Progress (TEP) today announced it will feature Austin City Council Member Chris Riley and RealMassive Founder and CEO Joshua McClure on a panel titled "Digital Agents: How Tech is Disrupting Real Estate" at Capital Factory (16th Floor, Omni Hotel Business Tower, 7th and Brazos, Austin, TX) April 29 from 6-8 p.m. TEP Executive Director Chelsea McCullough will moderate. The one-hour panel discussion will be followed by another hour of peer networking. Those interested in attending the free event may register here.

Throughout the panel, McCullough will engage McClure and Riley in a discussion that delves into the most pressing and of-the-moment issues in commercial real estate today, including:

  • How the CRE industry is rising to meet the demands of the information-empowered consumer
  • Prevailing and future technology trends impacting business
  • The need for flexible policy frameworks to support the new CRE paradigm
  • How to create awareness and educate those interested in more effectively capitalizing on the future of CRE

McClure commented, "Until now, CRE professionals and the industry-at-large are among the last to benefit from modern technology -- the efficiency of real-time, accurate data science provided by Google and other Internet models. Ensuring key Austin area CRE players are profiting from existing and future technology is our #1 priority and something I am thrilled to discuss alongside Council Member Riley April 29."

Council Member Riley said, "Austin is fast becoming an established national leader in the commercial real estate and technology sectors. This panel will address the issues most vital to our growing economy, and I look forward to the conversations this panel will spark."

McCullough said, "Texans for Economic Progress is passionate about promoting an open dialogue within the Texas tech community that addresses areas for growth and expanded access to technology, and encourages innovation. Joshua McClure and Council Member Riley have important ideas that both the real estate and tech communities need to hear. This discussion, which involves two sectors deeply vital to the economy, will be a crucial part of TEP's ongoing efforts to keep Texas at the forefront of national, economic and technological progress."
