Schrodinger Executive Jason Vertrees, Ph.D. Appointed Chief of Technology Officer at RealMassive

AUSTIN, TX--(Marketwired - Apr 23, 2014) - RealMassive, the first source for real-time commercial real estate information, has appointed Jason Vertrees, Ph.D. as the company's first Chief of Technology Officer (CTO). In this role, Dr. Vertrees will be reporting directly to Founder and CEO, Joshua McClure. Dr. Vertrees will be focused on leading the company's scientific and technological solution development teams.

In his new role at RealMassive, Dr. Vertrees will leverage his deep technical experience and user experience (UX) background to bring RealMassive's commercial real estate customers state-of-the-art technology designed to meet their business needs. Dr. Vertrees joins RealMassive from Schrodinger, where he served as Director of Core Modeling Projects and oversaw the computational drug design company's product strategy.

Previously, Dr. Vertrees held a number of key technology, product development, research and teaching positions at Boston University, UTMB Health, DeLano Scientific, Synthesys Technologies and Panasonic. Dr. Vertrees received his Ph.D. in Structural and Computational Biology and Theoretical and Computational Biophysics from The University of Texas Medical Branch. He has also been published in a number of medical and scientific journals, including PLoS Comput Biol, Biophysical Journal and Methods Enzymol. Additionally, Dr. Vertrees has been awarded multiple honors and grants, including the Barbara Bowman Memorial Award for Research Excellence and the NIH Molecular Biophysics Training Grant.
