Unity Announces Unity Cloud Build, Making Game Production Highly Efficient; Acquires Tsugi to Power New Service for Game Developers

SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwired - Aug 20, 2014) -  Unity Technologies is proud to unveil Unity Cloud Build, in beta. Now, game developers will have access to a powerful continuous integration service that helps them quickly build, test, and share new game projects. This service is powered through the acquisition of Tsugi, an Austin-based startup focused on making the process of building, testing, and deploying games seamless and fast.

"The goal of Cloud Build is to take the pain out of producing and maintaining successful cross-platform games," said Todd Hooper, VP of Online Services, Unity Technologies. "By streamlining the production process in the cloud, Unity is putting studios large and small in a position to give more time toward their creative processes and deliver amazing games that keep gamers coming back for more."

Camouflaj, the creator of the game République, has been using the Unity Cloud Build beta for production on the latest episode of its signature game and is already seeing an exceptional increase in efficiency.

"As we continue to expand République to more platforms, the time it takes to make builds has become a heavy burden for the team," says Ryan Payton, founder of Camouflaj. "This is why automation through Unity Cloud Build is a killer feature -- we've gone from two or three builds a day to at least twenty. We love it."

"Everyone on our team has been a long-time user and fan of Unity, and we created Cloud Build to make our own lives as game developers easier," said Patrick Curry, CEO of Tsugi. "Now at Unity Austin, we're dedicated to sharing our work with everyone in the vibrant Unity community."

Unity Cloud Build currently supports Git, Subversion, and Perforce source control systems and can build games for iOS, Android, and the Unity Web Player, with additional platforms available in the future. Developers using Unity Pro interested in participating in the beta program can do so for free by visiting https://build.cloud.unity3d.com.

As a result of the acquisition of Tsugi, Unity Austin is open for business. The Unity Austin office will grow to encompass multiple teams focused on Unity Cloud Build and further expanding the Unity ecosystem. For career opportunities in the Austin office, please visit http://unity3d.com/jobs.
