Naxos Music Library Introduces New iOS App

FRANKLIN, TN--(Marketwired - Sep 22, 2014) - Naxos Music Library (NML) has released a new app for iOS that will make the listening experience more seamless and enjoyable for its users. This updated app is available for free to all NML users, whether individual or institutional, and brings many of the capabilities of the website to mobile devices.

"As the world's largest online classical music library, we know that students, orchestra musicians, conductors and even orchestra patrons consider NML an invaluable resource for score study, performance preparations, casual listening," said Naxos founder Klaus Heymann. "It is our responsibility to make sure our subscribers have access to our vast catalog no matter where they are. That is why we launched our first NML app in 2009 and why we will continue to update it as necessary to accommodate the needs of our subscribers."

The NML app is now more intuitive when determining streaming speed on 3G and 4G networks and has improved track continuity despite connection drops that may occur on those networks. When navigating the interface, users will find that it is clean and simple. Compilations are easier to create and share. No matter where the user navigates on his or her device while streaming the footer player is accessible with a simple swipe of the finger. Possibly the most important new feature is that logging on to the NML app from outside of institutional networks is much easier with the use of the newly established authentication codes.

The new NML app for Android will be released later this year.

Naxos Music Library sets the industry standard in streaming classical music, featuring over 100,000 CDs from 700 prestigious record labels, including BIS, Chandos, Sony Classical, Nettwerk Music Group, Sun Records, Virgin Classics, Warner Classics (including the former EMI Classics catalog), and many others. With more than 1.5M tracks of music and tools for music education, Naxos Music Library is available for institutional and professional subscriptions and is currently being enjoyed by over 2,000 universities, performing arts organizations, and public libraries throughout the world.

Founded in 1987 on the idea of offering a wide range of well-played and recorded music in relatively modest packaging at a consumer-friendly price, Naxos has since risen to be the world's leading classical music group. The brainchild of classical music enthusiast Klaus Heymann, the label's strategy of recording exciting new repertoire with exceptional talent has allowed Naxos and its owned labels to develop one of the largest catalogs of unduplicated recordings in the record industry, releasing around 20 recordings per month and building a catalogue of more than 7,000 titles. In its 27-year history, Naxos has evolved into a classical music based multi-media group with its own physical and digital distribution, licensing, marketing and social marketing divisions. www.naxos.com
