NIAGARA FALLS, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Sept. 29, 2014) - Join community planners from across the province as they gather in Niagara Falls, Ontario on October 1st & 2nd for the 2014 Ontario Professional Planners Institute (OPPI) Symposium.

The theme for the 2014 Symposium is Healthy Communities & Planning in a Digital Age. The landscape of communication, consultation and engagement is changing. Planning is more participatory and public involvement is increasing. The advent of social media - blogs, online forums, wikis, social networking sites (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter) and collaborative software are also having a profound impact on planning and how planners interact with the public. The symposium will highlight, explore and engage attendees on this theme through numerous planning and professional practice issues.
