BAUER Architects Honored by the AIAOC With an Award of Merit for Festival of Arts Facade Design

LAGUNA BEACH, CA--(Marketwired - Sep 30, 2014) - On September 19th at the Newport Beach Civic Center, the American Institute of Architects/Orange County Chapter (AIAOC) recognized BAUER Architects with a prestigious Award of Merit for its outstanding contribution of design for the Festival of Arts façade replacement.

"There is no greater honor than peer recognition -- in this case made even more gratifying given the privilege we have working with an organization as creative and community minded as the Festival of Arts," said Jay Bauer, founder of BAUER Architects in Newport Beach.

Headquartered in Washington, D.C., the American Institute of Architects is comprised of licensed architects and associated professionals who adhere to a code of ethics and professional conduct to assure clients and the public of AIA members' dedication to the highest standards in professional practice. The AIA Orange County Design Awards celebrate innovative solutions to the architectural challenges facing Orange County. From the largest urban planning solution to the smallest home on a constrained lot, each award-winning project stands on its own merit as an example of exceptional work by exceptional architects.

Awards are conferred in broad categories at the discretion of the independent jurors selected by the chapter each year to conduct the program. This year categories included commercial and residential. Within those categories awards were given to built projects, un-built projects, and interiors.

BAUER Architects received two Merit Awards in the commercial un-built category -- one for the Festival's Façade Project and another project for The Noyo Center for Science and Education in Northern California.

This award comes just as the Festival of Arts is preparing to break ground on the building of the façade project. "I am pleased that BAUER Architects received the recognition that they deserve. It is a pleasure working with such a professional, innovative and creative team," commented Festival of Arts President Fred Sattler.

He continued, "The façade design is a reflection of the Festival's commitment to the arts. This beautiful and functional structure adorning the front of our art show and Pageant of the Masters, beginning the summer of 2015, will be just the first step in the beautification of the arts district and Village Entrance in Laguna Beach."
