Government of Canada supports Les Coups de Theatre


MONTRÉAL, QUÉBEC--(Marketwired - Oct. 1, 2014) - Canadian Heritage

The Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, today announced $65,000 in funding for the 13th edition of the biennial Les Coups de Théâtre, an international arts festival for young audiences. This support is provided through the Canada Arts Presentation Fund.

The festival, scheduled for November 16 to 23, 2014, will help children discover contemporary stories through new artistic practices in theatre, dance and music.

  • Nearly 80 artists from 17 companies in Quebec, Europe and South America will be featured at a range of venues in Montréal.
  • An anticipated 8,000 visitors will be treated to 50 performances, some of which will be presented in their original language. Visitors will also be able to take part in creative workshops.
  • Eight Quebec productions will make their world premiere.
