Kobrand Wine & Spirits Adds Marchese Lodovico Antinori's Tenuta di Biserno to Its Iconic Italian Wine Portfolio

PURCHASE, NY--(Marketwired - October 15, 2014) - Kobrand Corporation, dynamic home to some of the wine and spirits industry's finest luxury brands, is proud to announce the addition of Tenuta di Biserno, a project by Marchese Lodovico Antinori, to its portfolio of fine wines.  This announcement marks the start of a long term agreement to represent Tenuta di Biserno in the United States and other assigned territories.

Marchese Lodovico unveiled Tenuta di Biserno in 2012, a project he started after selling his renowned estate Tenuta dell'Ornellaia in 2002. A joint endeavor with his brother Piero Antinori, Tenuta di Biserno marks the first time the brothers have collaborated on a wine venture.

Tenuta di Biserno is set in western Tuscany in the coastal area of the Upper Maremma, the most awarded viticultural region of Italy. The 90-hectare estate lies among the hills of Bibbona and features views to the Tyrrhenian Sea all the way to Corsica. Bordering the DOC of Bolgheri, the vineyards of Bibbona and Bolgheri meet each other, as Marchese Lodovico Antinori observes, "very similarly to those of Saint Emilion and Pomerol."

The Tenuta di Biserno estate grows exclusively Bordeaux varietals with a special focus on Cabernet Franc, followed by Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot, which thrive in Bibbona's unique coastal climate terroir and mineral rich, complex soil. Sourced from a 45-hectare vineyard, Tenuta di Biserno's offerings include estate wines Il Pino di Biserno (SRP $80) and Biserno (SRP $180).

Marchese Lodovico Antinori is enthusiastic about his cooperation with Kobrand Corporation, "I'm very happy that our wines are now part of Kobrand, an eminent family-owned company which shares our appreciation for the cultural value of wine." Kobrand Corporation President and CEO Bob DeRoose shared his excitement, "Kobrand looks forward to working with the Antinori family on continuing their brands' success in the U.S. and it's an honor to add Tenuta di Biserno to our collection of iconic Italian wines."
