Parks Associates: Reported Home Control System Ownership Among Broadband Households at 11% in Spain, 9% in the U.K., 5% in Germany

DALLAS, TX--(Marketwired - Oct 22, 2014) - New Parks Associates research reports early growth of the Internet of Things (IoT) in Europe, where 11% of Spanish, 9% of U.K., and 5% of German broadband households report ownership of a home control system. The research firm will address smart home and IoT interoperability challenges during CONNECTIONS™ Europe: Monetizing Strategies for the Connected Home, 18-19 November, Mövenpick Hotel, Amsterdam.

"These efforts are significant as our European consumer research shows consumers overwhelmingly prefer smart devices that operate as part of a system. Approximately 75% of broadband households in Spain, Germany, and the U.K. prefer smart home systems that interoperate, versus stand-alone devices."

A majority of broadband households in all three countries are interested in smart home systems, including 54% in Germany, 56% in the U.K., and 62% in Spain who are interested in a smart home safety system.
