CourtView Announces eCitation Pilot Project With Ohio DPS

New Interface Can Eliminate Citation and Ticket Data Entry for Court Case Management

NORTH CANTON, OHIO--(Marketwired - Oct. 30, 2014) - CourtView Justice Solutions (CJS), an industry leader of dynamic case management solutions for courts, prosecutors, and other justice agencies, has announced today an agreement with the Ohio Department of Public Safety (ODPS) to provide a standardized interface between the CourtView solution and the ODPS eCitation system.

CJS, jointly with the ODPS, is slated to develop and implement a standardized interface connecting the ODPS eCitation System and the CourtView Case Management System. ODPS is partnering with the Franklin County Municipal Court and Clermont County Municipal Courts in a pilot project. These courts are scheduled to begin receiving electronic citations submissions in 2015.

Once implemented, citations from the Ohio State Highway Patrol can be submitted electronically via the eCitation interface for review and automated case creation in the participating court's CourtView system. Use of the eCitation interface can reduce redundant data entry and increase data accuracy for participating courts. Through ODPS' involvement in the project, CJS can offer the eCitation interface to CourtView customers as an add-on module with no additional license fee.

"This interface can streamline the courts' day-to-day operations by eliminating the need to re-key information into the system," says Kevin Bade, CJS General Manager. "By removing the license fee barrier, ODPS and CJS are enabling more CourtView customers to take advantage of this great opportunity to become a more efficient court."
