Sauer Energy to Launch WindCutter(R)

CAMARILLO, CA--(Marketwired - December 22, 2014) - Sauer Energy Inc.® ("SEI") (OTCQB: SENY), developer of the patented WindCharger®, WindRider® and manufacturer of vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT) energy management systems consisting of high-performance renewable energy producing platforms, announced today that its WindCutter 2.5,VAWT design, is the first model cleared for launch.  The WindCutter testing is complete, scored high marks and it is ready.

The WindCutter is able provide customers with an alternative that competes with other small wind turbines while providing energy savings and performance.  Ease of installation, low wind capture and long term survivability were the main focus of the design.

Based on the Darrieus principal, it has 5 airfoil blades that use the principle of lift to rotate the shaft.  This motion spreads the torque evenly over the entire revolution.  This type of airfoil has very high efficiency in its conversion of wind to energy, due to its ability to manage turbulent winds at rooftop heights and above, giving it a superior advantage. The lift principle differs from the drag principle because it causes the blades to move at a rate much faster than actual wind speed.

The five blades prevent destructive pulsation and, at the same time, create high rpms and high tip speed ratios.  Another advantage of this blade design is that they generate torque well from low wind capture.  This application also works well with low level mounting.

The WindCutter has achieved maximized performance utility with its proprietary, direct drive, axial-flux permanent magnet generator (PMG) that was expressly designed to work in tandem with it.  The optimum cut-in and cut-out speeds, required voltage ranges and lack of cogging is due to a special harmony between the blades and generator.    This match has presented higher economic efficiency, energy yield, reliability and longevity.  The net result to the consumer can translate into a relatively shortened term for return of investment (ROI).

Sales and marketing plans are now being activated and test pilot programs are being put in place for general inspection:

Dieter Sauer, CEO and President of Sauer Energy, Inc., had this to say, "This is great news for our Company!  We can stand behind a proven product with the highest confidence.  We can enter the market with years in development and factual net test results, which is something our customers and shareholders need and want.  Our team deserves credit for their diligence and tenacity.  Everyone at SEI is very enthusiastic about bringing this innovation to the next level with integrity."

How do we do it?

Sauer Energy has invested in its own advanced testing platform for the validation of its turbines.  More specifically, with regard to on-grid and off-grid applications, real world data is easily gathered in the most cost-effective way.

Such deployment capabilities within the facility greatly speeds up the research and development phase of next generation wind capture and new technology applications. The SEI infrastructure can sustainably grow with predictable prosperity at a very ambitious and competitive rate.  The small wind industry is still in its early stages and a tremendous amount of untapped potential still exists.

What can it do?

The WindCutter is able to produce 21,900 kWh of electricity at the rated speed per year.  Multiple tests were run for real validated performance data.  The power curve and output graphs below were derived from these tests and reflect real time actual data.  The power from the WindCutter was a direct result from when the turbine produced the power to after the PMG, after the inverter, after the rectifier, after the boost box, after the electrical box and through many feet of heavy gauge wire.  The SEI goal is to accurately report the abilities of their turbines and deliver exactly what is represented.  Therefore, these numbers are true net numbers.

The WindCutter turbine is American made.  It can power through any wind gust and maintain even rotation.  The high strength stainless steel bearing ensures optimum performance.  The anodized aluminum blades are weather resistant.  Even though it is meant to be pole mounted, it can also be custom mounted directly onto commercial buildings.

See Power Curve, Output, Specifications and diagram below.

What's coming up?

There will be more announcements as to the launch date.  SEI later plans to offer a 5 kW and a 10 kW WindCutter.

In August, 2014, VEC Technologies sadly closed down their manufacturing facility that was slated to manufacture WindCharger® blades.  The project was put on hold awaiting the selection of an alternative manufacturer for the blades.  The WindRider® will soon be ready to go as well.

About Sauer Energy Inc.

Sauer Energy Inc. is a technology developer and manufacturer focused on the emerging renewable energy market.  SEI is making preparations for the launch of its WindCutter turbine.

SEI also has plans to offer the patented helixical WindRider model, a vertical axis wind turbine that employs the HelixWind technology it purchased in 2012. The high performance design modifications are expected to deliver superior results. The WindRider is also pole-mounted, and can be used for applications that don't require roof mounting. SEI has also created the WindCharger brand for a better roof-mounted solution for residential and other small building usage.

SEI's technology is remarkable as it requires so few parts. This means a lower manufacturing cost, more efficient operation, lower maintenance (fewer parts = less chance of malfunction), and greater power generation. This will provide SEI with a new direction for wind capture, making it easier to scale from residential, to powering a small community -- all the way up to large industrial facilities. The market opportunity for this new, self-contained, innovative technology is unlimited and growing rapidly.

With several patents in place and many more pending, SEI looks forward to early manufacturing and commercialization. It is also aggressively moving toward a financial return on its investments. To learn more about Sauer Energy, please visit: www.SauerEnergy.com
