The Second Global Spring Wave Awards Opens

Heavyweight Musicians to Be Judges; Top Two Winners to Perform on Spring Wave Star Stage

TAIPEI, TAIWAN--(Marketwired - Jan 26, 2015) - The renowned pop concert producer Friendly Dog Entertainment Co. Ltd. announced on Jan. 26 the opening of the Second Global Spring Wave Awards, inviting artists to show their talents in the iconic April music festival in Taiwan.

Kuang-yuan Shen, president of the Friendly Dog, said at a press conference that the organizer will start taking submissions of the 2015 Awards immediately. Shen invited music artists to present their creative pieces at the competition and vie for a chance to chart their own career on the platform that the Friendly Dog built for music lovers.

Shen also presented heavyweight musicians who will be the judges of the final rounds of the Second Global Spring Wave Awards. They include Luantan Ascent, leading Buddha Jump vocalist Penny Dai, and noted music producer Yu Fei Ma. Dai won the best female mandarin singer at last year's Golden Melody Awards in Taiwan. The popular musicians will also perform their creative scores during the competition.

The event organizer offers various incentives and subsidies to participants. The top 20 selected from submissions will compete live in Kenting, home of the annual Spring Wave Music & Art Festival. It will provide them free hotel accommodations on April 3/4, 2015 and transportation subsidies -- NT$2,000 to each participant from Taiwan and NT$6,000 to each from overseas.

Both the semi-final and final rounds will take place in Hengchun Airport in Kenting. Top 6 musicians will be selected at the semi-final and they will compete in the final round on the main stage at the 2015 Spring-Wave Music & Art Festival in front of tens of thousands of fans.

The top five winners will be awarded generous cash prizes, and the best two will also win their own stage at the 2015 festival and will be invited by the Friendly Dog to perform at overseas concerts.

The Global Spring Wave Awards originated from the local Spring Wave Awards which was organized annually by the Friendly Dog since 2010. The First Global Spring Wave Awards launched last year and attracted over 200 submissions from Taiwan and abroad.

Traditionally, winners of the local Spring Wave Awards were given the chance to present their creative works at the Kenting festival of the same year, enjoying the same hardware facilities provided to popular musicians and having a great time with crowds of fans. The incentives have attracted more and more submissions from creative music artists over the years, with the number growing from some 40 in 2010 to 135 in 2013. The participants included Taiwanese and expatriates in Taiwan and also those from overseas. Artists from Hong Kong also competed to win the top place in 2013.

The Second Global Spring Wave Awards started taking submissions from Jan. 16 until March 8, 2015. Those interested please visit: https://contest.bhuntr.com/tw/2015springwave or Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/springwave
