Zagster and The Domain Companies Announce Partnership to Bring Bike Sharing to Multiple Developments in New York City and Louisiana

Bike Sharing to Augment Amenities & Sustainability of Mixed-Use Apartment Communities

NEW ORLEANS, LA--(Marketwired - Jan 26, 2015) -  Zagster, the leader in providing bike sharing programs for the real estate industry, has partnered with The Domain Companies, a leading developer of large-scale, mixed-use developments, to offer bike sharing to residents of three properties in Louisiana and New York City. Properties include The High Grove in Baton Rouge, The Paramount at South Market in New Orleans and Eleven33 in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, with plans to expand the service to other Domain properties later this year. The cruiser-style bikes are available to residents by the hour or the day, giving them a convenient, healthy and fun way to get around the city.

"Increasingly, mixed-use developments are seeking to incorporate innovative transportation options to reduce congestion and increase sustainability," said Timothy Ericson, co-founder and CEO of Zagster. "Zagster's turnkey system, our small and flexible footprint, and easy user experience are a great fit for developers seeking to embed bike sharing in their developments."

The High Grove includes 192 luxury apartments and over 25,000 square feet of high-end retail space, all located within "The Grove," a planned 118-acre Traditional Neighborhood Development. The High Grove is helping to lead the charge for sustainability as the first luxury apartment community in Baton Rouge to be awarded LEED Silver Certification. At this location, there are four bikes available to residents for up to a 24-hour period.

The Paramount is the first building in Domain's $250 million South Market District mixed-use, transit-oriented development in Downtown New Orleans, and includes 209 luxury apartments and 22,000 square feet of first-class retail and restaurants. The property is positioned at the top of the New Orleans market and is targeting LEED Silver Certification. The Paramount's bike share program will launch in late January with six bikes.

Eleven33 is a 210-unit luxury development with 20,000 square feet of retail and commercial space in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Located in one of New York City's most exciting and rapidly developing neighborhoods, Eleven33 will be positioned as the premier apartment community in the Greenpoint area. Eleven33's bike share program will launch in February with six bikes.

Residents can join by downloading the Zagster Mobile App, available for iPhone and Android, or online at Zagster sites customized for each property. To use the Mobile App, riders simply enter the unique ID number of the bike they wish to use and an access code for the lock box is provided. Riders can use the code throughout the duration of their rental to lock and unlock the bike anywhere along their trip. Once the bike is returned to a Zagster location, the touch of a button ends the rental and releases the bike for the next rider.

"Our tenants choose Domain Companies because of our focus on quality and our commitment to the community around us," said Megan McNeill, Domain's Marketing Director. "The addition of Zagster helps us continue to deliver on those principles -- it's a great new amenity that offers a broader community benefit. We're looking forward to welcoming Zagster to our upcoming projects later as well, including The Addison in Baton Rouge and The Beacon at South Market later this year."

Zagster is developing a national footprint of bike sharing programs in partnership with real estate/multi-family companies, businesses, hotel chains and universities, all of whom are looking to provide value added services and benefits to residents, guests or area employees. Currently, Zagster has hundreds of bikes deployed in more than 30 cities and towns in more than 20 states with thousands of members having taken tens of thousands of rides. It provides more programs to more real estate companies than any other bike sharing provider.
