Naxos of America Welcomes Ten Labels to Its Distribution Family in January and February 2015

FRANKLIN, TN--(Marketwired - Jan 27, 2015) - 2014 was a year of challenges for many in the music business. Naxos of America is celebrating yet another successful year of meeting and exceeding those challenges by adding ten new labels to its roster of distributed labels.

Launched in 2000 when other labels were reducing investment in new recordings, LSO Live features the legendary London Symphony Orchestra. Despite this shift in attention away from classical music, there was no evidence of a decline in demand for new titles by today's artists. To date LSO Live has released recordings with many of the world's leading conductors including Valery Gergiev, Bernard Haitink, Mariss Jansons and the late Sir Colin Davis. The label won its first Grammy Award in 2002 and since collected Classical Brit Awards, Gramophone Awards and numerous other international prizes.

The Mariinsky label, launched in May 2009, draws on the theatre's rich legacy and historical ties to the great Russian composers. It showcases the extraordinary talent within the theatre and orchestra, presenting new recordings of works that are both familiar and less well known to the widest possible audience.

The world-renowned King's College Choir took control of its recording output by launching its own label in late 2012. The label's first release was Nine Lessons & Carols in October 2012. Since then, they have been striving to record more adventurous repertoire while bringing a fresh look at some of the most important pieces in the choral literature.

Launched in 2011 as a fully owned subsidiary of the J.S. Bach Foundation, J.S Bach-Stiftung publishes and distributes the Foundation's live recordings of Bach's complete vocal music.

Naxos of America also welcomes Artevisio, Guitardik Music, FMP, K617, Lauda, and VIA Records.

In addition to being an award-winning classical label, Naxos of America is the #1 independent classical music distributor in the U.S. and Canada. Specializing in state-of-the-art distribution, marketing and promotion, Naxos of America distributes nearly 50,000 titles on CD and DVD to traditional brick and mortar retail, as well as offering a comprehensive suite of services tailored to consumer direct fulfillment.
