Fullbridge's Vice President of Education Takes on Expanded Role as Advisor to Law Programs

Simon Colley to Oversee Fullbridge Law Team's Strategic Direction in Driving Excellence in Client Service and Address Law Firm Lawyers' Interests in Business Education

CAMBRIDGE, MA and NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Jan 29, 2015) - The Fullbridge Program, the leading workforce skills educator and provider of the unique business education programs for lawyers, announced today that Simon Colley, Fullbridge's Vice President of Education, has taken on the additional role as Advisor to the Fullbridge Law Programs. With over 20 years of experience developing innovative, effective professional development and leadership skills programs, Colley's insights and hands-on, practical knowledge will provide global and regional law firms with a unique advantage in strengthening relationships with their corporate counsel clients. He will work closely with law firm partners and professional development staff to develop curriculum content that aligns with a law firm's culture and lawyer development strategy, as well as meet time and budget constraints.

"Generating superior client value depends on continuously improving what we do and how we do it," noted Candice Carpenter Olson, Fullbridge Co-CEO and Founder. "Simon's extensive experience leading strategic transformative change will help Fullbridge Law Program participants to advance their lawyers' business education and equip them with a value-add benefit to their client/attorney relationships. We are extremely fortunate to have his strategic vision and innovative educational approach as we expand our tailored business immersion programs for more international and regional law firms."

"We continually hear from legal industry clients, conference attendees and colleagues that there is a real need for added education for attorneys around those critical skills that are not taught in law school. These include improved collaboration, a better understanding of a client's business and creative problem solving. I look forward to leading a series of informational webinars and developing expanded, scalable solutions to help law firms meet these important needs," Colley said.

Colley added that at the 2014 Professional Development Institute conference in Washington, DC, Fullbridge surveyed attendees on the "Top Five Skills & Competencies Lawyers Need to be Successful in Today's Competitive Legal Environment." Effective Project and Time Management was ranked at the top of the list, followed closely by Creative Problem-Solving, Communicating Effectively with Business People, Basic Finance and Persuasive Communication.

"By focusing on the essential competencies attorneys need to succeed in a modern law firm and teaching junior lawyers how to better manage time and understand financial and accounting concepts to better communicate with clients, the Fullbridge Program for Law will continue to be a powerful differentiator for firms answering the client-service challenge," he explained.

Prior to joining Fullbridge, Colley served as the Director of Marine Operations for the national tall ship of Bermuda and as Captain of several tall ships delivering leadership programs on trans-oceanic voyages. His experience also includes over a decade with Outward Bound as a curriculum developer, staff trainer and program manager, with groups ranging from corporate executives to youth offenders. He previously taught high school science in Australia and was instrumental in the early stage curriculum development of the US-based Shackleton School. Colley holds a Bachelor of Science from James Cook University; a Bachelor of Education from the University of Western Sydney; and a Master of Business Administration from the MIT Sloan School of Management.

Fullbridge's Law Programs are the only educational training programs that teach lawyers the business concepts and professional skills to better understand their clients' businesses. Fullbridge alumni strategize, work and manage more efficiently than their peers, and they continually add value in an ever-evolving legal landscape. Since 2011, Fullbridge has educated over 1500 attorneys with the top law firms across 30 major cities throughout the US, Europe and Asia. www.fullbridge.com
