KCG Secures $29 Million DHS Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation Task Order

Company Selected to Integrate Tools, Sensors and Continuous Monitoring as a Service Capabilities

RESTON, VA--(Marketwired - Mar 4, 2015) - Knowledge Consulting Group (KCG), one of the largest privately held cybersecurity services firms in the United States, today announced that it has been awarded Task Order 2A under Phase 1 of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) Program. The task order is to integrate tools, sensors and Continuous Monitoring as a Service (CMaaS) capabilities, and has a total value of $29,050,520.

"This task order initiates the services component of the CDM program," said Matt Brown, Vice President, Homeland Security and Cyber Solutions, KCG. "This is a major step in the program as DHS works to solidify the networks of its component agencies. We are proud to be the first vendor selected by DHS and GSA to implement the technologies and services required to deliver CDM functionality off of this critical vehicle. This will serve as a guide for future CMaaS programs at agencies across the government."

Under this task order, KCG will design, build and operate a CMaaS solution for DHS and its participating components. The proposed CMaaS solution will integrate with DHS' information system security risk management process. The results of this integration into existing processes will assist with the identification, prioritization and mitigation of risks throughout the DHS infrastructure. The CMaaS solution will include the configuration, operation and management of tools, sensors, dashboards and data feeds as well as support for CDM governance.

KCG's team for this task order includes Govplace, Defense Point Security, IBM, Cloudburst Security, Knight Point Systems, Axxum Technologies and Ardent Management Consulting.

Issued by the General Services Administration (GSA) Federal Systems Integration and Management Center (FEDSIM), CDM provides all federal agencies as well as state, local, regional and tribal governments with specialized information technology (IT) services and tools to help implement DHS' CDM program. CDM aims to defend government networks from cyber attacks by providing continuous monitoring, diagnosis and mitigation tools, as well as CMaaS capabilities.

"KCG's selection for this task order validates our overall approach to meeting DHS' requirements, and our exhaustive evaluation of the best combination of technologies and services necessary to implement the Phase 1 goals of CDM for DHS," said Dusty Wince, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, KCG. "As a pure play cybersecurity services company, we have been preparing for this opportunity throughout our 15-year history and we look forward to working with our technology partners -- McAfee, ForeScout and Splunk -- to provide a comprehensive capability."
