DAREarts is pleased to announce that broadcaster Jeanne Beker, C.M., and Olympian and Pan Am gold medalist Waneek Horn-Miller will be the 2015 recipients of the 2015 DAREarts Cultural Award that they will receive at the 13th annual DAREarts Leadership Awards.

The gala celebrations hosted by Marci Ien, co-host of CTV's Canada AM, will take place on Thursday, April 16, 2015, 5:30 pm at the Allstream Centre, 105 Princes' Blvd, Toronto.

The DAREarts Cultural Award is presented each year to individuals who have led the way and ignite change in advancing culture for youth across Canada.

"Jeanne and Waneek are both true examples of the Canadian role models who we strive to honour and celebrate," says Marilyn Field, founder of DAREarts. "Much like we do at DAREarts, these women seek to motivate, empower and inspire excellence in the lives around them as well as their own."

Six amazing DAREarts graduates will also receive financial scholarships, Leadership Awards and a chance on-stage to tell their personal stories, sharing life's challenges and how they are igniting positive change in their communities.

Proceeds from this event will benefit 13,000 Canadian at-risk young people, aged 9 - 19, exposed to DAREarts programs. The diverse DAREarts programs empower youth in under-served communities with self-confidence and life skills to become leaders.

The gala celebrations will begin with a reception at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner and awards at 7:00 p.m. and an after party at 9:30 p.m. Seats are $250 per person and tables of 10 are available via various sponsorship packages from $3,000. Join us and help DAREarts transform at-risk kids into leaders by igniting change.
