Eastmain Appoints Dr. John Hansuld Lead Director

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - April 27, 2015) - Eastmain Resources Inc. (TSX:ER) announces with great pleasure that its Board of Directors has appointed Dr. John A. Hansuld to the position of Lead Director. Dr. Hansuld, an esteemed member of the mining community, who is recognized for a full and varied career in geochemistry and mineral exploration was inducted to the Canadian Mining Hall of Fame in 2012. During his distinguished career John has received numerous industry awards, including the Northern Miner's "Mining Man of the Year", the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada's (PDAC) "Developer of the Year", and the "Past Presidents' Medal" of the Association of Exploration Geochemists.

Dr. Hansuld has served the Canadian mining and minerals sector with distinction as a pioneering geochemist, entrepreneurial company-builder, financing innovator, and dedicated industry advocate.

Early in his career, as an intrepid geochemist John initiated the application of geochemical techniques essential to understanding the dispersion and relative mobility of common metals in soils and other secondary media. Soon afterwards, in his role as company-builder, John turned Amax Exploration Canada into a premier exploration and mine development group, which he later took public as Canamax Resources, developing a number of mines under the Canamax umbrella. As a devoted industry supporter and leader, John was largely responsible for the early achievements of the Association of Exploration Geochemists, and was instrumental in the success of Flow-Through Share Financing in Canada, a financing mechanism envied the world over and used with great success in the discovery and development of Canadian mineral deposits. As President of the PDAC from 1993 to 1996, John was instrumental in changing the face of the PDAC from an all-Canadian organization to one with far-reaching global status, and as Past President, he continues to support and promote the activities of the PDAC world-wide.
