Waller Expands Its Birmingham Office

BIRMINGHAM, AL--(Marketwired - May 27, 2015) - Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis, LLP, a leading provider of legal services to the healthcare, financial services, manufacturing, retail and hospitality industries, announced today the addition of Michael C. Staley, as senior policy advisor, and Charles W. Prueter, as associate in the firm's Birmingham office.

Michael C. Staley, a registered lobbyist, joins Waller as senior policy advisor for government and legislative affairs. Prior to joining the firm, he served as Chief of Staff to United States Congressman Spencer Bachus. In that role, he was Representative Bachus' principal political advisor and assisted in developing critical relationships with community and political leaders. Mr. Staley represents clients across a wide range of industries before the executive and legislative branches of government in Montgomery, Alabama and Washington, D.C. He earned his B.S., in Business Management from the University of Alabama in Birmingham.

Charles W. Prueter assists private and public companies in litigation matters and internal investigations, as well as individuals in federal criminal proceedings. His experience includes defending banks and financial institutions against lawsuits brought under the Federal Debt Collection Practices Act and other federal and state financial regulations, at both the trial and appellate level. Prior to joining Waller, Mr. Prueter served as a law clerk to a U.S. District Court judge and a U.S. Court of Appeals judge. He earned his J.D., summa cum laude from the University of Alabama School of Law and his B.A., summa cum laude from The Ohio State University.
