Government of Canada Supports Canada Day Events in Kitchener

Funding from the Celebrate Canada program helps make community event possible


KITCHENER, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - May 29, 2015) - Department of Canadian Heritage

Stephen Woodworth, Member of Parliament (Kitchener Centre), on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, today announced $20,000 in funding to the Downtown Kitchener Business Improvement Area.

This funding, provided through the Celebrate Canada program, will enable the organization to offer Canada Day activities in Kitchener on July 1, 2015.

  • The Department of Canadian Heritage provides funding for activities organized on specific days during the Celebrate Canada period from June 21 to July 1.
  • The Celebrate Canada period includes National Aboriginal Day on June 21, Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day on June 24, Canadian Multiculturalism Day on June 27, and Canada Day on July 1.
