Versatile Hires Two Veteran IT Executives and Adds Consulting Services Division

New Division Helps Organizations Bridge Business Decisions With IT Decisions

MARLBOROUGH, MA--(Marketwired - Sep 1, 2015) - Versatile Communications, Inc., a full-service IT provider, announces it has hired two new IT executives who will lead the company's new Consulting Services division. The new division will help clients create IT action plans that support their organization's business goals and help them make decisions, including on-premises and cloud considerations. David Christianson will serve as the Senior Vice President of Consulting Services and Jay Shenk will be Managing Consultant.

David Cote, Versatile's President, says, "Many people are confused about the choices that are available for consuming technology, and which choices are right for their organizations. Generally speaking, executives put a lot of pressure on IT departments to optimize business performance and overall outcomes. We added Consulting Services to help our clients assess what they need and get to the right decisions."

Christianson brings 30 years of IT and business experience to Versatile. He was a Founder and Partner at Concordant, a consulting firm that was acquired by Arcadia Solutions in 2011. Prior to Concordant, David managed consulting and professional services for Vanstar/Inacom where he was also responsible for the national channel partnership with IBM/Lotus and worked closely with Microsoft and HP. He's been a strategic advisor to Versatile for a number of years, and has most recently worked as an independent IT and management consultant. A primary focus of his career has been in helping clients find the intersection of business needs and technology, and in facilitating complex problem solving.

Shenk has broad experience in both IT and general business at Fortune 500, midsized, and entrepreneurial startups. He's managed projects as diverse as establishing the Time Warner distribution center in Indiana, to major software implementations and departmental reorganizations. Most recently, in a consulting role, Jay worked in Manhattan for 3-1/2 years as corporate CIO reporting directly to the chairman, and had varied responsibilities including managing digital product development, outsourcing physical distribution, implementing major workflow, CRM and ERP systems, as well as running IT on a daily basis. Immediately prior, he had responsibility for setting up a shared services center in Littleton, MA for Triumph Learning, an educational software company.

Cote goes on to say, "There are very few organizations that have a perfect cloud strategy right now. Our Consulting Services help companies spend their hard-earned dollars in ways that meet their business outcomes more effectively. We're excited to have Dave and Jay leading the way."
