Mortgage Brokers by Day, Homeless Shelter Missionaries by Night

Angels in the Night to Visit Homeless Shelters Across Canada 13th Year in a Row, Distributing Over 100,000 Much Needed Items

TORONTO, ON--(Marketwired - December 08, 2015) - Tonight, volunteers from Invis-Mortgage Intelligence, one of Canada's leading mortgage brokerage firms, along with industry partners and friends will visit shelters in seven Canadian cities to distribute new winter clothing and much needed supplies as part of their award-winning community program, Angels in the Night Homeless Shelter Project.

Angels in the Night is an annual event resulting from a year's worth of community fundraising efforts by Invis-Mortgage Intelligence volunteers in support of homeless shelters in communities across Canada. Since 2002, Angels in the Night volunteers have raised almost $3 million. Each year, volunteers reach out to homeless shelters in their communities to identify the items most in demand. Those items are then purchased and personally delivered to the shelters on one night in December.

This year, Invis-Mortgage Intelligence plans to distribute over 100,000 items, which will include sweaters, sweatshirts, jeans, jackets, boots, hats, scarves, gloves, socks, sweatshirts, underwear, blankets/bedding and backpacks. Personal toiletries are often the most requested items and tonight's delivery will also include lots of razors/shaving cream, shampoo, toothbrushes/toothpastes, bars of soap, hand lotion, body wash, and deodorant.

"Today we're proud and inspired by a grass-roots local project that has evolved into a coast-to-coast initiative of caring and community engagement. As mortgage brokers in the business of helping people find their homes, it seems right to extend some support and help to those who might not have a warm home to go to every night," says Cameron Strong, CEO, Invis-Mortgage Intelligence."
