Parkland Fuel Corporation Donates $175,057.50 to the Canadian Red Cross -- Alberta Fires to Support Fort McMurray

RED DEER, AB--(Marketwired - June 23, 2016) - Parkland Fuel Corporation ("Parkland") (TSX: PKI), one of North America's fastest growing distributors and marketers of fuels and lubricants, today announced that it has donated a total of $175,057.50 to the Canadian Red Cross -- Alberta Fires. In response to the devastating wildfires in Fort McMurray, Alberta, Parkland initiated a matching campaign for all personal donations made by employees to the Canadian Red Cross.

"Before we initiated the matching campaign, employees were already asking how they could help. The fires hit very close to home for Parkland and our employees, as we have a Bluewave Energy branch, a Fas Gas retail location and two Esso dealer sites in Fort McMurray," said Paul Lapensée, Vice President of Commercial Fuels and Health, Safety & Environment. "At Parkland, we are committed to supporting the communities in which we serve, especially during a time of need."

In just under a month, employees personally donated a total of $66,260. With Parkland's matching campaign which wrapped up at the end of May, that total doubled to $132,520. An additional $42,537.50 was donated by employees through Parkland's internal Parkland Pledge Program.
