The Government of Canada supports the start-up of Borealix Inc.

After developing its products and potential markets, the Mauricie business will automate production

SAINT-ADELPHE, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Oct. 24, 2016) - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)

Businesses need adequate resources to create and commercialize innovative products. The Government of Canada is committed to supporting Canadian businesses that are investing in innovation. As a true economic driver, innovation is the key to success because it generates growth that benefits businesses and communities.

Acting on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for CED, François-Philippe Champagne, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Finance and Member of Parliament for Saint-Maurice-Champlain in the House of Commons, announced that Boréalix Inc. has been granted $111,638 in financial assistance, in the form of a repayable contribution, for pre-commercialization activities, the acquisition and installation of production equipment and the design of promotional tools.

The financial assistance granted under CED's Quebec Economic Development Program (QEDP) will help the start-up optimize its manufacturing processes, increase production capacity and implement a pre-commercialization strategy for the northeastern United States market. Created in December 2014 by young entrepreneur Marie-Pierre Maurais, Boréalix operates in tertiary wood processing. The company designs, manufactures, assembles and commercializes high-end outdoor wood tiles (balconies and terraces) and cedar wall tiles.
