Shipt to Expand H-E-B Grocery Delivery in Houston

App-based grocery delivery service expands Houston coverage area in response to requests

HOUSTON, TX--(Marketwired - Oct 27, 2016) - Shipt, the fastest growing online grocery marketplace, today announced an expansion of their delivery coverage in the greater Houston area in partnership with H-E-B, one of the nation's largest and most respected grocery retailers.

Beginning on November 3, 2016, Shipt will add 4 additional H-E-B stores to its coverage area, reaching 22 additional zip codes across Conroe, Humble, Pasadena and Baytown. For a detailed map of new and existing coverage in the Houston area, go to Shipt.com/Houston.

"Houston is an incredible city, but as many people know, the traffic is tough. When we launched grocery delivery in Houston, our goal was to simplify residents' lives by helping them avoid inevitable traffic delays on their way to the grocery store," said Bill Smith, founder and CEO of Shipt. "Since our initial launch in Houston, we've received countless requests to expand our service area. We took those requests seriously and are proud to partner with H-E-B to provide a better grocery delivery experience to even more members of the Houston community."

Through the Shipt app, members shop a full selection of groceries offered at local H-E-B or Central Market stores, note any preferences, choose a one-hour delivery window and pay for their order. Shipt connects members with a community of shoppers who hand pick their items and deliver them as soon as one hour after the order is placed.

"Ever since the launch of Shipt in the Houston area, requests from customers located outside the original delivery area have been pouring in," said Armando Perez, H-E-B Senior Vice President. "After working diligently to accommodate these requests, we are excited to offer access to Shipt grocery delivery to more of our valued customers in the Houston area. We've enjoyed partnering with Shipt thus far and look forward to this expansion."

To celebrate the expansion of Shipt across Houston, new members who sign up for an annual membership prior to November 3 will receive $25 in grocery credit. Shipt memberships are available for an annual fee of $99 and members have access to unlimited free grocery deliveries. Shipt does not utilize surge pricing, even during peak times.
