Konica Minolta Healthcare Introduces New Digital U-Arm Featuring Cutting-Edge Technology at RSNA 2016

WAYNE, NJ--(Marketwired - November 28, 2016) - Konica Minolta Healthcare announced today the release of the new KDR™ AU System -- Advanced U-Arm, designed for exam efficiency and optimal workflow, to be showcased at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) Annual Meeting, booth 1919. The state-of-the-art digital radiography (DR) technology includes pre-programmed positioning capability and floor-mounted installation in a small footprint for shorter time from question to answer.

"The new KDR™ advanced digital U-arm has so many unique, user-friendly features it really is a tool designed by technologists for patients," explained Guillermo Sander, Senior Product Manager of Digital Radiology for Konica Minolta Healthcare Americas. "The U-arm boasts a versatility that delivers time savings without sacrificing image quality, improving not only the patient experience but also clinician productivity."

Using the company's Ultra software, anatomy selections can be preprogrammed into the system so only minor adjustments are required once the patient enters the room. Multiple images may be preprogrammed as well, resulting in less demands and less stress for the patient throughout the exam. The floor-mounted system fits 8-foot ceilings, with a stand that lowers to less than 1 foot from the floor for easy positioning and efficient use of space. The technologist can accept and reject images right at the patient's side, and even add patients to the worklist on the fly.

"Having the bulk of the 'to-do's' preprogrammed into the system is a great time saver for busy practices. Clinicians are able to focus less on the technology and more on the patient, translating to better, more comfortable patient care," said Sander.

The digital U-arm features a 17 inch by 17 inch cesium detector for thorough coverage and image quality. The stand performs automatic stitching and uses a three-knob collimator, delivering ultimate control over the imaging area.

Experience the new digital U-arm from Konica Minolta at booth 1919 of McCormick Place in Chicago, Nov. 27-Dec. 2.
