Homeland Security Seeks Protective Security Officer Services


WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwired - May 11, 2017) - The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), National Protection and Programs Directorate (NPPD), Federal Protective Service (FPS), released on May 11 a solicitation notice in which it announced plans to acquire armed protective security officer (PSO) services at the following locations in Washington D.C.:

  • 355 E Street SW
  • 375 E Street SW
  • 395 E Street SW
  • 500 E Street SW
  • 500 C Street SW
  • 400 Maryland Avenue SW
  • 330 Independence Avenue SW
  • 330 C Street SW
  • 100 V Street SW

The armed PSOs will protect federal personnel and property at federally owned and leased buildings, and Homeland Security expects the PSOs to serve an estimated 2,530,000 hours for a 66-month period at the above locations.

The contractor who receives the contract must provide all labor, material, management, supervision, training, licenses, and permits to provide the services. The period of performance is for a one-year base period, with four one-year option periods and an optional 6-month extension.

Homeland Security expects to award an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract with firm fixed-price provisions.

The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 561612 with size standard is $20.5 million. A Top Secret Clearance is required prior to the date and time established for PSOs to begin standing posts.

The contractor who receives this contract must be registered with the System for Award Management (SAM) database and have as part of the Registration all current Representations and Certifications.
