TUV Rheinland Expands Global Wireless Testing Capability

Acquires Swedish lab from Tech Mahindra, specializing in wireless testing services

LITTLETON, MA--(Marketwired - May 16, 2017) -  TÜV Rheinland, a leading international testing service provider for quality and safety, today announced that it has expanded its global wireless communication testing capabilities by acquiring a world-class facility from Tech Mahindra. The Lund-based facility will form the home office of TÜV Rheinland's newly established subsidiary in Sweden.

"We can now offer our customers long-range wireless testing services, as well as antenna performance tests like Over The Air (OTA)," explained Stefan Kischka, Vice President Wireless/Internet of Things, TÜV Rheinland. "We will also focus on regulatory tests, approvals, and various protocol tests at the Lund site in the future."

The Lund laboratory is located in the heart of a technology cluster consisting of research and development companies, manufacturers and integrators. "The laboratory in Lund is the launching pad for TÜV Rheinland to enter the Scandinavian market," said Anders Nordlöf, Managing Director, National Subsidiary TÜV Rheinland Sweden AB.

Earlier this year, TÜV Rheinland opened a state-of-the-art Internet of Things (IoT) excellence center in Fremont, California. The new facility complements TÜV Rheinland's existing facility in Pleasanton, California, bringing an end-to-end wireless testing service center to Silicon Valley.
