RFID Technology and Local Beer meet in Leduc at Barney's Pub

"Beer ATM" in Leduc proudly serves only Alberta craft beers

LEDUC, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - June 19, 2017) - You have all seen this viral 'beer ATM' video (http://www.businessinsider.com/the-world-now-has-a-beer-atm-2017-6) but did you know you have one right in your own backyard?!

Barney's Pub in Leduc launched the Pour My Beer brand wall in May when the new pub opened. The difference is - this beer wall serves only Alberta craft beers. "We are local above all else," says Vasim Khan, general manager of Barney's Leduc. "We wanted to showcase the quality products made right here in Alberta, for Albertans and visitors alike to enjoy while they are here."

The craft beer wall has rotating taps of 10 Alberta craft beers at a time including beers from well known craft breweries like Blindman (Lacombe), Ribstone Creek (Edgerton) and ToolShed (Calgary) to smaller up and coming breweries like Fahr (Calgary), Wood Buffalo (Fort McMurray) and Coulee (Lethbridge).

All beers are available by the ounce - meaning patrons can taste as little as they want before committing to a whole pint - eliminating waste and allowing people to sample a diversity of craft beers.

"We want to help people experience beers that represent the entire province," says Khan. "It's like a trip around Alberta without leaving Leduc!"

A video about the Barney's beer wall can be viewed here: https://vimeo.com/219483028 and the line up of Alberta craft beers on tap seen at www.barneyspubleduc.com.

Barney's food menu is also locally sourced including meats from Pine Haven Colony at Wetaskiwin, vegetables from Reclaim Urban Gardens on Whyte Ave and more.

Media are invited to visit any time to try the technology and experience craft beers from across the province.
