Sentry Investments announces fund risk-rating reductions and a new fee-based service

TORONTO, ON--(Marketwired - June 26, 2017) - Sentry Investments ("Sentry") is pleased to announce that it has lowered the risk ratings for five of its mutual funds.

The changes, which were reflected in the renewal of its simplified prospectus, dated June 20, 2017 (the "prospectus"), are:

• Sentry Canadian Income Fund - from "Medium" to "Low to medium"
• Sentry Canadian Income Class - from "Medium" to "Low to medium"
• Sentry Corporate Bond Fund - from "Low to medium" to "Low"
• Sentry Corporate Bond Class - from "Low to medium" to "Low"
• Sentry Conservative Monthly Income Fund - from "Low to medium" to "Low"

These changes are a result of Sentry's internal review of fund risk ratings, which is based upon the risk-rating methodology recommended by the Investment Funds Institute of Canada (IFIC).

No material changes have been made to the investment objectives, strategies or management of these funds.

Also, for advisors who use, or are looking to switch to, a fee-based model, but lack the dealer platform to do so, Sentry now offers a fee-based service. Advisors can charge a custom, negotiated service fee for Sentry Series F/FT funds. Upon completion of necessary documentation, Sentry can administer the collection of the fee through a monthly redemption of securities in investor accounts.
