MISSISSAUGA, ON--(Marketwired - July 18, 2017) - For the third consecutive year, the Nissan Micra Cup drivers return to the famous Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières (GP3R) race track, which is taking place from August 12-13. As in previous years, the event's main automobile partner Nissan will offer a range of on-site activities with many exclusive offers for Nissan owners. All they have to do is show their Nissan car keys to get access to the Nissan hospitality tent and its lounge area located inside the Nissan Micra Cup paddock. They will also get the chance to drive a Nissan GT-R on a race simulator, enter exclusive contests, enjoy refreshments and much more. Visitors will also be able to enter the Nissan Micra Cup team paddock and have the opportunity to meet the series drivers.

For the 2017 edition, Nissan has broadened its partnership with the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières to showcase the brand off the track by hosting a free show: FROM THE RACE TRACK TO THE NISSAN STAGE. The show will star comedian Michel Barrette and Kevin Bazinet, the grand prize winner of La Voix 3 who will set the stage on fire with his band.

"We wanted to organise a family-friendly and unique event to bring Nissan owners together during the Nissan Micra Cup to thank them for supporting the brand," explained Joni Paiva, president, Nissan Canada. "Taking care and meeting our customers is important for us, and that's why we've organised an event that has something for everyone. We are thrilled to welcome Michel Barrette and Kevin Bazinet, two very popular celebrities from Quebec for an original and unique show that combines humour and music. Trois-Rivières is the perfect location to hold this event. The Mauricie region is in the middle of Quebec, which will enable us to host our customers from everywhere in the province and introduce them to an amazing show put on by the Nissan Cup drivers on the track," noted Mr. Paiva.

Nissan customers who visit the Nissan hospitality tent on the GP3R site will also receive an exclusive invitation to take part in the GRAND NISSAN BBQ, which will be held on Saturday August 12 at 6:00 p.m., close to the main stage located in Parc Portuaire in the city centre.

Nissan Micra Cup driver Michel Barrette will switch from track to stage to kick off the evening at 8:30 pm. "I can't wait to get behind the wheel of my racing Nissan Micra on the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières track," said Michel Barrette. "I love the atmosphere in Trois-Rivières during this event, it's something unique, and this will be my first chance to drive on this track with my two sons Nicolas and Martin. The Nissan Micra Cup is a big family day and we're going to have a lot of fun together, both on the track and the stage. Just like Nissan has done, I would also like to thank my fans, who have been loyal to me for years," concluded Michel Barrette.

On the heels of Michel Barrette, Kevin Bazinet, the grand prize winner of La Voix 3, is on the bill for the second-half of the show and accompanied by four musicians. The public will have the chance to listen to and enjoy some of his compositions and cover songs. A talented and dynamic artist, Kevin will undoubtedly charm the Nissan family guests. "I'm a huge car-lover and it's a pleasure for me to take part in the Nissan Micra Cup festivities at the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières," said Kevin Bazinet. "I will have the opportunity to watch the race and see the Micras in action during the grande finale on Sunday, August 13 from the Nissan paddock," concluded Kevin Bazinet.

Free and open to everyone, the FROM THE RACE TRACK TO THE NISSAN STAGE show will be held in Parc Portuaire in downtown Trois-Rivières on Saturday, August 12 at 8:30 p.m. A special section of front-row seats will be reserved exclusively for Nissan owners. All these customers have to do is show their Nissan car keys to get access. They will also get a perfect view point to watch the Magic Lights fireworks display that will take place immediately after the show.

Finally, for those who cannot make it to the Grand Prix de Trois Rivières, the Nissan Micra Cup races will be streamed LIVE on the series' Facebook page, a unique opportunity to enjoy the show put on by the series drivers on the track from your living room.
